The Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department in New York is seeking new, recent, or expected law school graduates to serve as Mangano-Prudenti Fellows. This fellowship is named in honor of two former Presiding Justices of the Court, the Hon. Guy J. Mangano and the Hon. Gail Prudenti. Fellows will serve a two-year, non-renewable term in the Law Department of the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department.
The Mangano-Prudenti Fellows will have the opportunity to work on various aspects of New York State appellate practice, including criminal law, civil law, and family law. They will be responsible for legal research and writing, analysis of legal issues, and preparation of reports and confidential memoranda for the Justices of the Court. Fellows should have exceptional legal writing skills, knowledge of the law and trial procedures, and the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret legal issues.
To be considered for this fellowship, applicants must be admitted to the New York State Bar. The salary for this position is $96,594 plus $4,775 for location pay. The position is located in Brooklyn, NY and the deadline to apply is August 1, 2024.
