Job Title: Tax Expert
Job Responsibilities:
- Represent the Group Tax in various committees responsible for reviewing and approving new products, businesses, and processes.
- Optimize the corporate structure to ensure tax efficiency.
- Contribute to the effective implementation of tax risk controls and improvements, including developing and overseeing the implementation of tax policies.
- Review and approve the tax aspects of complicated transactions and financial products, as well as the tax provisions of offering documents and programs.
- Advise colleagues in other jurisdictions on the US tax implications and risks of financial products and businesses.
- Prepare and review tax returns and filings associated with financial products and related business units.
- Collaborate with law firms and external tax advisors to obtain and update legal guidance.
- Assist with responses to inquiries from tax authorities in an accurate and timely manner through thorough analysis and communication.
Education and Experience Information:
- A US law degree, possibly with an LLM in Taxation and/or an advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Must be a current qualified attorney and a member in good standing of the bar.
- Prior experience providing US Tax Advisory services to a non-US financial institution.
- Previous front-office experience in a financial institution is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment and deliver results.
