Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, a global AmLaw 50 full-service law firm, is seeking two senior-level project finance attorneys to join our Energy, Infrastructure and Project Finance team. These positions can be based in any of our US offices and offer an opportunity to work with some of the largest and most innovative players in the energy industry.
We are looking for attorneys with at least 5 years of experience, strong academic credentials, and a national reputation or comparable in-house counsel role. The ideal candidates will have experience in project finance work with a focus on either debt or tax equity/M&A in the energy industry.
Our Energy, Infrastructure and Project Finance team comprises over 55 attorneys across the firm, representing clients such as leading utilities, pipeline operators, municipalities, independent power producers, commercial banks, equity and tax investors, EPC contractors, and energy technology companies. As a member of this team, you will have substantive responsibility and direct client contact, working on a variety of transactions related to the development, acquisition, and financing of renewable energy projects.
H2: Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Representing sponsors and financing parties in connection with renewable energy projects
- Drafting and negotiating debt or equity documents, depending on experience
- Familiarity with project development and operation contracts
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in the energy industry at a large law firm or in-house counsel role
- Excellent oral communication, writing, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage junior associates, take ownership of projects, and work effectively in a team
- Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school
H2: Salary and Application Details
The pay range for this position is $365,000 - $455,000 per year, in accordance with the New York City Salary Transparency Law.
