A full-service creditors' rights law firm is seeking an experienced Debt Collection Attorney to join its Indianapolis office. This position is ideal for an attorney with at least two years of experience managing consumer and commercial debt collection matters. Duties:
Manage a caseload of consumer and commercial debt collection matters
Review, approve, and sign pleadings, motions, and legal executions
Represent clients in court proceedings
Attend client audits and industry-related conferences
Ensure compliance with relevant consumer protection laws including FDCPA, CFPB, and FCRA
Maintain accurate and organized documentation and case files
Communicate effectively with clients about case strategy and progress
Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and internal support teams
Negotiate settlements and payment plans with debtors or their legal representatives
Perform additional legal duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant legal experience
Licensed to practice law in the state of Indiana
Demonstrated understanding of debt collection laws and litigation process
Ability to work independently and handle multiple matters efficiently
Strong client service focus and professional demeanor
Education:
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in Indiana
Skills:
Excellent legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Familiarity with litigation and case management software preferred
