Job Summary:
The Staff Attorney provides a comprehensive range of civil legal representation, advocacy, and outreach services to low-income individuals. The primary focus of civil litigation includes areas such as housing, consumer rights, education, federal income tax, elder law, employment, family law, probate, and public benefits. However, the attorney may also engage in other priority areas of law depending on the needs of the clients.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide legal representation and advocacy for low-income individuals in civil litigation.
- Focus on legal areas including housing, consumer rights, education, federal income tax, elder law, employment, family law, probate, and public benefits.
- Engage in outreach activities to assist and educate low-income communities.
- Adhere to the Rules of Civil Procedures, Rules of Evidence, Rules of the Family Court, and Rules of Appellate Procedure.
- Communicate effectively through strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Utilize excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office 365, to perform job duties.
- Work with diverse populations and communities, showing commitment to public interest and poverty law.

Education and Experience:
- Must be a member of the SC Bar.
- Knowledgeable about the Rules of Civil Procedures, Rules of Evidence, Rules of the Family Court, and Rules of Appellate Procedure.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills; bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office 365.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
