Job Title:
Counsel/Senior Counsel, Casualty and Healthcare
Experience Information:
- 7+ years of experience as a lawyer with a major commercial insurance company
- Experience litigating insurance coverage matters and/or drafting insurance forms and endorsements
- Familiarity with state regulations related to the admitted insurance market
- Admission to practice in New York, Illinois, or Massachusetts as a licensed attorney
Job Location:
- Boston, MA/Chicago, IL/New York, NY
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice regarding BHSI's products and product development in North America
- Collaborate with various teams on legal issues associated with BHSI's products and business in North America
- Participate in new product and business opportunities
- Support underwriters in reviewing/issuing various BHSI products
- Review legal/regulatory requirements concerning BHSI's Casualty and Healthcare products
- Assist in the development of system and procedures to disseminate legal information to teams
- Prepare market surveys relative to Casualty and Healthcare products
Qualifications and Skills:
- JD degree from an ABA approved law school
- Advanced knowledge of casualty insurance, preferably with healthcare insurance knowledge
- Experience with general insurance principles and practices
- Time management, prioritization, and project management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-driven and self-disciplined
- Able to work independently
