Job Title: Senior Attorney Strategist - Estate Planning
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Attorney Strategist - Estate Planning plays a crucial role within the Wealth Solutions group, which is dedicated to providing and implementing planning strategies for high-net-worth clients. The essential job functions include:
- Meeting with wealth advisors, financial planners, and other wealth management professionals to review, fund, and maintain estate plans.
- Learning and applying advanced planning strategies.
- Building a client base of ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
- Reviewing and summarizing existing estate planning documents, making recommendations for changes based on legal and family circumstances.
- Answering general estate planning questions from clients and advisor teams.
- Acting as an in-house resource in estate planning for wealth management teams nationwide.
- Keeping up-to-date with estate, trust, and tax legislation across the country.
- Supporting business development through presentations, thought leadership publications, and prospective client meetings as necessary.
- Mentoring and coaching Estate Planning Strategists.
- Managing a service specialist, overseeing day-to-day tasks, training, and mentoring.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Senior Attorney Strategist will also act as an attorney under Advanced Services Law Group, Inc. (ASLG), a boutique estate planning firm supporting clients of the company. Tasks under this role include:
- Meeting with clients to design, implement, fund, and maintain estate plans.
- Drafting estate plan documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and funding-related documents, as well as advanced planning tools like IDGTs, QRPTs, ILITs, SLATs, and LLCs.
- Preparing and reviewing deeds and real property transfer documents.
Education and Experience Information:
- degree.
- Licensed to practice law in at least one state.
- At least 4 years of legal experience in estate planning is preferred.
- Ability to interpret and convey complex estate planning topics to Wealth Management teams and clients.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Work Schedule:
The role requires availability during standard business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. There may be early or late hours required to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs.
Working Conditions:
The position can be based in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace free of interruptions. Basic technology needs will be provided to satisfy position requirements. The role involves sitting and standing for periods, with no heavy lifting over 10 lbs.
