Job Title: Senior Vice President, Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Vice President, Counsel at Company is tasked with several key responsibilities that impact the **Members Only** Wealth Services Platform and the broader Company enterprise. The role requires the individual to report to the Head of **Members Only** Legal and act as a principal adviser to the business. Among the primary responsibilities are managing and negotiating contracts for Pershing, which include advisory, brokerage, technology, and operational services. The counsel provides general legal support to the broker-dealer, registered investment adviser, and technology affiliate as required. Additionally, the role involves advising on new product development and regulatory risk management decisions. Providing business leaders and associates with strategic advice and guidance to identify critical problems where legal principles can minimize risks and maximize profits is also essential. Staying informed on legislation and rulemaking that affect business operations and developments in corporate and securities law practice is crucial, as is updating the team and management accordingly. The counsel collaborates with business leaders and associates to develop legal and regulatory best practices.
Education and Experience Information:
To be successful in this role, the candidate should have 3-7 years of legal experience, with a preference for those having 5+ years of experience focusing on contracts and issues related to investment advisory and/or broker-dealers. Prior corporate legal experience within the financial services industry or experience in assigned practice areas such as securities or employment with an outside law firm is preferred. Experience with a Broker-Dealer, Registered Investment Adviser, or regulatory agency is also advantageous. The role requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation abilities. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to influence and impact business decisions effectively. The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires hands-on support and business teamwork is crucial. An ideal candidate would also have in-house counsel experience.
Salary Information:
The compensation package for the Senior Vice President, Counsel position at Company is highly competitive. The base salary is expected to be between $116,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, the actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis, taking into account factors such as experience and market location. This base salary is only a part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. The position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify the base salary and any other discretionary payment or compensation at any time for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
