Job Title: Part-time Legal Internship
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and writing tasks.
- Engage in client interaction through meetings and phone calls.
- Collaborate with community partner staff.
- Draft pleadings and correspondence.
- Prepare for and attend hearings.
- Investigate and develop facts in individual cases.
- Strategize with **Members Only** attorneys on individual cases.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and education sessions.
Education and Experience Information:
- Must be enrolled in law school or a recent law school graduate.
- Should possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must demonstrate dedication to the mission of **Members Only**, which focuses on using the law to fight poverty and racism, empower clients, and improve access to justice.
- Should have the ability and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work as a team member and collaborate with others is necessary.
- Must comply with **Members Only** policies and procedures and competently perform all job duties.
- Completion of a trial practice, professional ethics course, and certified legal intern status are beneficial but not required for consideration.
Salary Information:
- The intern will be compensated at a rate of per hour.
- Payment is made on a bi-weekly basis.
- The internship requires a commitment of 10-15 hours per week, totaling 180 hours over a 12-15 week period.
- Interns have flexibility in maintaining a work schedule to meet their commitment during the internship period.
