Job Title: Associate Attorney - TCS

Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Controversy Services (TCS) Associate Attorney at the company, you will represent various small and mid-size companies in defending their rights against state and federal government challenges. This role provides a unique opportunity to utilize and enhance your litigation skills in a client-focused environment. You will frequently engage and work with C-level executives and other senior-level professionals. The position involves gaining extensive knowledge about numerous industries and business operations across the country.

Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating evidence and developing realistic evaluations of cases to position clients for success.
- Developing and implementing strategies to represent clients effectively in federal and/or state examinations.
- Gathering, reviewing, and analyzing necessary documentation in response to requests from federal and/or state governments.
- Drafting and preparing information for presentation to federal and/or state governments.
- Preparing witnesses and participating in client interviews with federal and/or state governments.
- Preparing and presenting client cases before federal and/or state governments.
- Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda and other documents for submission to federal and/or state governments.
- Serving as the main point of contact between clients and the federal and/or state government, providing exceptional client service.
- Managing and maintaining client relationships and working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to drive results.

Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree, with an active license to practice law in any state.
- Preferred 2 years of experience as an attorney, with the ability to maintain your own docket.
- Preferred litigation experience, including deposition and trial preparation/participation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Candidates should be highly professional, competitive, and collaborative.
- A strong aptitude, high motivation, and career-mindedness are essential.
- A high sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities is necessary.
- Receptiveness to performance feedback within a team environment is crucial.
- Availability to travel 15-25% within the United States is required.
- Candidates must reside in or relocate to Houston, TX.
