Job Title: Tax Manager, Core Tax Services

Job Responsibilities:

The Tax Manager, Core Tax Services is primarily responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives. This includes evaluating and selecting alternative actions to minimize tax burdens and compliance costs. The manager acts as the primary client contact for complex tax issues and is responsible for applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues, recognizing potential risks, and communicating potential changes in tax policy. Key responsibilities include:

- Ensuring clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens.
- Conducting top-level reviews of tax returns and resolving tax issues with clients.
- Communicating with clients and Assurance on any issues identified in tax accrual reviews.
- Planning and reviewing the tax process and procedures, including budgeting, staffing, and monitoring engagement processes.
- Managing client relationships and expectations in accordance with projects.
- Providing timely tax advice and assistance with exam support.
- Identifying research needs, framing issues, and reporting analysis clearly.
- Applying ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) and firm policies regarding tax accruals.
- Assisting in developing and implementing efficient methods to maximize client benefits and minimize taxes.
- Developing in-depth understanding of one or more areas of taxation.
- Introducing and developing new ideas to improve client and firm positions.
- Supervising associates and senior associates, providing review comments, and training them.
- Acting as a Career Advisor and managing workloads of associates and senior associates.
- Providing performance feedback to associates and senior associates.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for majors in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- A Master’s degree in Accountancy or Taxation is preferred.

Experience:
- A minimum of five years of relevant tax experience and/or experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services is required.
- Prior supervisory experience is required.
- Industry expertise in one or more tax specialties is preferred.

License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) is required.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role is preferred.
