Job Title: Litigation Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Attorney specializing in personal injury matters at the law firm, you will be tasked with managing a diverse caseload while leading a team of paralegals and case managers. Your role is crucial in ensuring timely processing and adherence to all legal deadlines. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting medical case reviews.
- Negotiating and settling cases during both pre-litigation and litigation stages.
- Reviewing policies, claims, and other records pertinent to cases.
- Preparing, writing, and arguing legal documents, such as memos, theories of liability, and demands.
- Communicating with insurance companies to ensure client medical treatments are managed and billed properly.
- Keeping clients informed by providing case status updates.
- Conducting intake meetings with new clients to understand their cases.
- Managing a docket of cases in line with office policies.
- Conducting and attending Independent Medical Examinations (IME's), Examinations Under Oath (EUO's), and recorded statements.
- Exercising a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in all dealings.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury law or 5+ years in litigation is required.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and writing skills are essential.
- Intermediate to advanced-level computer and general office skills, along with strong interpersonal skills, are necessary.
- The ability to effectively communicate through both verbal and written electronic correspondence is required.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze corrective action opportunities and present recommendations is important.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are needed.
- Must be able to work independently.
Licensure:
- Candidates must be currently licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio and be in good standing.
Salary Information:
- The base pay for this position ranges from $80, to $130, per year, depending on experience.
- The position includes a base salary plus quarterly bonuses.
