Job Responsibilities
The Commercial Litigation Associate at the law firm is expected to handle a variety of responsibilities that are integral to the litigation services offered by the firm. The associate will:
- Engage in high value business/commercial litigation, complex litigation, products liability, consumer class actions, toxic torts, privacy, false advertising, greenwashing, and general negligence/premises liability.
- Serve as national, regional, and trial counsel to Fortune 200 companies and global entities across a range of industries.
- Draft and argue discovery motions, dispositive motions, and class certification motions.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Assist in both jury trials and bench trials.
- Apply a detail-driven approach to case work-up.
- Provide creative client counseling.
- Work towards defense verdicts in jurisdictions across the country.
- Contribute to the diversity and pro-bono efforts of the Downtown Los Angeles location, especially in civil rights and impact litigation.
Education and Experience Information
Candidates for the Commercial Litigation Associate position must meet the following educational and experience requirements:
- At least four years of meaningful experience in complex commercial litigation matters in a mid-size or large law firm setting.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills.
- Admittance to and good standing with the California Bar.
- Preparedness to take the lead in case management and possess an entrepreneurial spirit to contribute to a growing office.
Salary Information
The law firm is committed to transparent and fair compensation practices. The salary for the Commercial Litigation Associate position is determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and location. For the Los Angeles office:
- The annual salary range is $220,000 - $330,000.
- Employees may also be eligible for performance bonuses.
- Additional benefits include healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
