Job Title: Tax Senior

Department: Tax Services Business Tax

Position Summary:
The Tax Senior position within the Tax-Exempt practice at the company is designed for individuals interested in working with tax-exempt organizations. This role is ideal for strategic and creative federal tax professionals who enjoy solving complex federal tax issues and providing compliance and consulting services to dynamic non-profit clients. The position involves working with clients actively engaged in community improvement through philanthropic efforts.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide tax compliance and consulting services to non-profit clients, including health care providers, private foundations, public charities, higher educational institutions, and other non-profit organizations.
- Focus on tax compliance, business restructuring, exemption strategies, philanthropic and charitable giving planning, and tax controversy.
- Oversee federal tax compliance and consulting projects requiring tax analysis for various entities and their affiliates.
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships on various federal tax consulting/compliance engagements.
- Manage the tax engagement team and collaborate with a national team of Tax-Exempt specialists.
- Work with the company's Global Center for Excellence in Philanthropy, which serves innovative individuals, companies, and nonprofits driving societal change.
- Collaborate with Consulting, Audit & Assurance, and Advisory colleagues on client planning projects.

Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other business-related field.
- 3+ years of experience in federal taxation with a strong emphasis on tax-exempt organizations (501(c)(3)s and 501(c)(4)s).
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing/able to obtain: Licensed CPA, Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work and clients served.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Solid understanding and experience with federal tax compliance, tax analysis, and tax research.
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring specific to tax-exempt organizations.
- Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong management and analytical skills.

Salary Information:
The wage range for the Tax Senior role considers various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications. The estimated range is $66,570 to $151,580. Compensation decisions are based on the facts and circumstances of each case, and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. There is also eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to performance factors.
