Job Title: State and Local Tax - Indirect Tax - Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead as technology-enabled tax advisors who enhance efficiencies through digitization and automation.
- Supervise, develop, and coach teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and successful client engagements.
- Manage client service accounts and drive engagement workstreams independently.
- Solve and analyze complex problems, ensuring exceptional deliverables.
- Cultivate meaningful client relationships and inspire team members.
- Navigate ambiguity while upholding the company's quality standards.
- Contribute to the company's purpose, principles, and broader business strategies.
- Take ownership of projects, ensuring successful planning, budgeting, execution, and completion.
- Partner with team leadership for collective ownership of quality, timelines, and deliverables.
- Mentor others effectively and address conflicts or issues by engaging in difficult conversations with stakeholders.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in relevant fields.
- CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.
- A Juris Doctorate in Taxation is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of state and local tax laws is crucial.
- Proficiency in tax planning, restructuring, audit defense, and state controversy work is necessary.
- Familiarity with sales and use tax implications on FAS 5 is advantageous.
- Proficiency in tax compliance automation tools is important.
- Strong client relationship management skills are required.
- Proven leadership experience in supervising and coaching teams.
- Knowledge of automation and digitization in tax services is beneficial.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $98,300 - $266,000, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. This range is specified for roles based in Maryland, and actual compensation within the range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
