Job Title: Corporate Counsel, NA Stores
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end legal support for the Core Selling Partner Experience team, focusing on enhancing the selling partner experience across various tools and platforms such as Seller Central, Listings, Catalog Protection, and Brand Registry.
- Serve as the primary legal advisor and strategic thought partner to business teams, offering intuitive support and proactive guidance.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with new features, products, and services in the selling partner ecosystem.
- Influence and shape policies and seller experiences to empower small and medium-sized businesses on the platform.
- Develop, build, and manage new legal solutions that enable sellers to connect with consumers and grow their businesses.
- Educate and coach business clients on relevant regulations and laws impacting the selling partner ecosystem.
- Coordinate and interact directly with cross-functional global legal and business teams to deliver best-in-class legal support.
- Stay up-to-date on evolving legal and regulatory requirements relevant to retail, e-commerce, and small business support.
Education and Experience Information:
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Ability to rapidly integrate into new teams and workflows, with a clear understanding of complex business models and legal frameworks, particularly familiar with the Amazon seller experience.
- Skill in transforming conceptual ideas into structured implementation plans, including an understanding of emerging technologies like machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Willingness to learn and develop proficiency in privacy-related issues and collaborate with privacy subject matter experts.
- Ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of complex legal tasks independently, ensuring timely completion and organization.
- Exceptional creativity, attention to detail, and commitment to customer service.
- Strong analytical skills to systematically resolve complex legal and business issues.
- Ability to translate intricate commercial and litigation issues into clear, actionable insights for diverse teams.
- Effective coordination of international regional counsel, acting as a central point for business issues with global implications.
Salary Information:
The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in the lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation, along with a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
