Job Title: Tax Senior - Federal / Corporate Tax
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior Consultant within the Business Tax Services group at the company, the candidate will be a key member of tax engagement teams. The responsibilities include:
- Performing detailed technical reviews of partnership, corporate, and individual federal tax returns, along with reviewing all related work papers.
- Coordinating with clients' tax and finance departments to gather data for tax planning and compliance.
- Conducting detailed reviews of income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Researching federal tax legislation to understand its impact on compliance and consulting.
- Assisting with various tax consulting projects, including research and writing projects related to federal tax planning, restructuring, controversy, and accounting for income taxes.
- Managing engagement workflow and supervising tax consultants and interns on assigned engagements.
Education and Experience Information:
Required Qualifications:
- The ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model requiring . Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, depending on the work and the clients and industries/sectors served.
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Over 3 years of experience in federal taxation.
- Experience in preparation and review of federal tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- Active accreditation obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain one of the following:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment.
- A passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technological solutions.
- Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors used in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The typical range is $66,570 to $151,580. It is not standard for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules and based on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
