Job Description

In this role, you will provide legal advice and assistance to our Financial Crimes Compliance, Risk, and business partners on matters related to anti-money laundering laws and regulations. You will also review investigative work and manage outside counsel on financial crimes-related matters. Responsibilities:

As the Director, Managing Counsel for our Financial Crimes Legal Investigations Team, you will:

Provide timely legal advice and assistance on matters related to anti-money laundering laws and regulations, including the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020, the USA PATRIOT Act, and Bank Secrecy Act.
Review and interpret relevant laws and industry best practices related to anti-money laundering.
Review investigative work and support our investigative units.
Engage and manage outside counsel and consultants on financial crimes-related matters.
Escalate legal and regulatory risk to senior management.
Participate in internal governance committees and policy-making bodies.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

Licensed attorney in good standing in the state/jurisdiction where the position is based.
7-10 years of experience as a qualified attorney.
Experience working in AML/KYC/financial crimes at a financial institution, law firm, or law enforcement.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of issues impacting the banking and financial services industry.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
