Job Title: Tax Manager - Credits & Incentives
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager within the Global Investment and Innovation Incentives (Gi3) practice, you will be responsible for identifying eligible federal credits and incentives (C&I) generating activities and managing the analysis and documentation of these opportunities. This role involves working with businesses that may not have the resources to navigate evolving legislation or complete necessary paperwork. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing federal credits and incentives opportunities, such as Research and Development tax credit/deduction analyses, New Markets Tax Credit, Qualified Opportunity Zones, Sustainability and Renewable Energy tax credits, and other federal credit incentive services.
- Delivering value to clients by identifying opportunities and advising on potential benefits and eligibility requirements.
- Maintaining and developing strong internal and client relationships.
- Utilizing extensive technical skills to solve complex issues in the industry/service offering.
- Demonstrating sound judgment and instincts in evaluating complex scenarios involving various credits and incentives opportunities.
- Developing, mentoring, and motivating Consultants and Senior Consultants and providing counseling and career guidance.
- Identifying potential issues, proposing solutions to leadership, and implementing process improvement strategies.
- Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of engagement deliverables, including presentation decks, executive summaries, credit calculations, completed tax forms, memoranda, and IRS audit responses.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax developments and working with the team to present potential opportunities to assist clients.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Proven knowledge of R&D tax incentives and/or experience with New Markets Tax Credits, Qualified Opportunity Zones, or Renewable Energy tax credits.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- One of the following active accreditations: Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA, Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, or PE (Professional Engineer).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree such as MST, LLM, or JD.
- Experience with tax technical research tools (., CCH, Hein, Lexis, RIA).
- Experience with Federal or State and Local C&I.
- Experience with sustainability technologies or environmental sciences.
- Big 4 experience or experience in a large CPA or law firm.
- Demonstrated analytical and research skills, effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills with strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to collaborate and develop internal and external working relationships proactively.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. The estimated range is $89,180 to $203,060. Additionally, there may be eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
