Job Title: Seized Property Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

As a Seized Property Specialist within the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, the primary responsibilities include:

- Providing custody, management, and disposition of seized or forfeited property.
- Overseeing the receipt, security, and transportation of all types of seized or forfeited property, including controlled substances, currency, and firearms.
- Witnessing or supervising the destruction of seized or forfeited property, such as narcotics.
- Arranging for the transfer or temporary safekeeping of seized or forfeited property prior to its release for storage and disposition to a contractor.

Education and Experience Information:

For the GS-09 grade level, the qualifications are:

Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent, which includes:

- Providing support to a seized property management function by locating physical storage facilities.
- Accounting for seized property through an automated system.
- Preparing reports for management or court cases.

Education: A master's degree or equivalent graduate degree such as an ., or two academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed education and experience, calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.

For the GS-11 grade level, the qualifications are:

Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent, including:

- Assisting with providing custody, management, and disposition of seized and forfeited property by overseeing their receipt, security, transportation, and review of appraised value.
- Assisting with determining liens, quick-sale, storage, inventory, maintenance, modification, refurbishment, upgrade, and final disposition of seized and forfeited property.

Education: A . or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed education and experience, calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.

Salary Information:

The salary range for this position is $61,111 to $120,157 per year, based on the applicable locality pay for the selected duty location. The pay scale & grade for the position is GS 9 - 11.

Additional Information:

- These are non-bargaining unit positions.
- The position requires the selectee to carry a firearm. Applicants must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
- A valid driver's license is required before the final job offer.
- Applicants must successfully pass a background investigation and a drug screen.
