Job Title: Tax Manager, Specialized Tax Services Partnerships

Job Summary:
As a Tax Manager specializing in Partnerships, the primary responsibility involves advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, particularly focusing on partnership-specific items. These include section 704(b) and taxable income allocations, capital account maintenance, liability analysis and allocations, section 734(b) and 743(b) adjustment calculations, and Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) calculations. The Tax Manager will utilize their expertise to identify potential partnership taxation issues and assist in preparing partnership-specific computations. This role is integral to the leadership team within the department and actively contributes to the group's development. Additionally, the Tax Manager participates in process improvement and team-building initiatives, maintains client relationships, and provides guidance to team members.

Job Responsibilities:

Tax Specialization:
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues and opportunities concerning partnership taxation.

Research:
- Identify when research is necessary, clearly frame issues for research, and report analysis concisely.
- Identify complex issues requiring research by the engagement team and provide research methodology for efficient processes.
- Train associates and senior associates on research skills and frame tax issues for analysis.
- Involve company specialists as appropriate.

Tax Consulting:
- Assist with developing, recommending, and implementing methods to maximize client benefits, with a focus on reducing current and future taxes.
- Apply tax knowledge and industry insights to recommend solutions.
- Maximize client benefits while managing risk and implementing company strategies.
- Manage client expectations.

Tax Specialization:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of partnership taxation issues and opportunities.
- Participate in organizing and conducting external CPE training sessions in the area of specialization, involving company specialists at least once a year.
- Train and mentor associates, senior associates, and managers.
- Perform other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise associates and senior associates on all projects.
- Review work prepared by associates and senior associates and provide feedback.
- Train associates and senior associates on current software tools.
- Act as a career advisor to associates and senior associates.
- Schedule and manage workloads of associates and senior associates.
- Provide verbal and written performance feedback to associates and senior associates.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:
- Bachelor's degree required, with a major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred.
- Master's degree in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.

Experience:
- Five or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience required.
- Specialized partnership experience required.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Private equity experience at both fund and portfolio company levels preferred.

License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role preferred.

Software:
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred.
