Job Title: 2026 2L Summer Associate

Job Responsibilities:
The 2026 2L Summer Associate position at the law firm is designed to provide rising second-year law students with hands-on experience in the legal field. The summer associate will participate in a nine- to ten-week clerkship, gaining insight into the daily operations and responsibilities of a law firm attorney. The program emphasizes career development, network building, and mentorship. Summer associates will work on various legal projects and collaborate with attorneys to develop their skills and understanding of the legal profession. Additionally, candidates interested in intellectual property (IP) law should have a background in engineering, computer science, or physics, as this will be beneficial for the role.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the 2L Summer Associate position should be rising second-year law students with strong academic credentials. Applicants are required to submit a resume, cover letter, and transcript (an unofficial version is acceptable). Those interested in IP law should also provide an undergraduate transcript demonstrating their academic background or relevant work experience in the specified fields.

Salary Information:
The law firm offers scholarship opportunities alongside the traditional summer clerkship. These scholarships are designed to attract outstanding law students to private practice and support their success in law school. For 2L students, there is an opportunity to receive up to $40,000 in scholarship funds to assist with school-related expenses. The scholarship payments are structured as follows:

$10,000 if they receive and accept our 1L summer offer
$25,000 if they receive and accept our 2L summer offer
$15,000 if they receive and accept our First-Year Associate offer
Potential Total Scholarship: $50,000

Additional Information:
The law firm utilizes the Suited Assessment as part of its candidate evaluation and recruitment process. This assessment allows the firm to consider candidates beyond traditional hiring metrics. Completing the Suited Assessment is mandatory for all candidates. However, if a candidate requires an alternative selection procedure due to accommodation needs, they can contact the Manager of Entry-Level Recruiting. The assessment only needs to be completed once, and previous results from other recruiting cycles or law firms are accepted. Information on the assessment, data retention policies, and accommodation requests can be found in the provided link. Additionally, the results of the firm's AEDT bias audit are available on their website.

The law firm is committed to diversity and inclusion, and its scholarship opportunities are open to all law students, regardless of race, ethnicity, color, religion, citizenship, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, military service, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
