Associate General Counsel - Exciting Opportunity with Competitive Salary and Comprehensive Benefits

Truist, a leading financial institution, is seeking a highly experienced and skilled attorney to join our Legal Department as an Associate General Counsel. This is a regular, full-time position available in 4 locations, with a competitive base salary of $190,800 - $286,200 per year. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and a 401k plan. Additionally, eligible employees receive 10 days of vacation, 10 sick days, and paid holidays within their first year of employment.

As an Associate General Counsel, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various business units, including the Financial Crimes unit, and provide legal and regulatory support. You will also have the chance to advise on compliance matters, stay up-to-date on industry developments, and help with investigations, due diligence, and risk assessments. This role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain positive relationships with internal clients while serving as a trusted legal advisor and business partner.

Key responsibilities include:
• Providing day-to-day legal support to internal clients
• Assessing legal risks and providing guidance on potential exposures
• Staying up-to-date on relevant legislation and regulations
• Assisting with investigations and risk assessments
• Identifying potential legal and compliance risks and developing mitigation strategies
• Reviewing policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance
• Working closely with internal and outside counsel on litigation and other matters
• Coordinating with industry trade groups on advocacy matters

Requirements:
• Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in good standing
• 10+ years of post-bar experience in a law firm, government, and/or corporate setting
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage a heavy workload
• Team-oriented mentality and excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the financial services industry, with specialization in BSA/AML, OFAC regulations, and anti-corruption/anti-bribery
• Familiarity with other federal banking laws and regulations
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new and emerging areas of law
• Excellent recordkeeping skills with experience handling confidential and sensitive information
• Ability to explain complex subjects to a variety of audiences
• Highly collaborative and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment within a large, complex corporation
