A growing litigation defense law firm in Houston, TX is seeking a well-rounded and motivated Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of experience in construction liability and defect litigation. This position offers the opportunity to represent national clients across a variety of construction-related matters, including those involving contractors, developers, product manufacturers, and insurers. Location

Duties

• Handle a substantial caseload involving construction defect, personal injury, trucking/auto, product liability, and premises liability

• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda

• Respond to and initiate discovery, including dispositive motions

• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies

• Prepare for and take depositions of parties and expert witnesses

• Draft case evaluations and client status reports

• Participate in mediations, hearings, and court appearances

• Interact directly with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance professionals

• Attend hearings at the Workers’ Compensation Commission when necessary

Requirements

• 3–5 years of litigation experience, specifically in construction liability and defect defense

• Licensed to practice law in Texas courts (required)

• Familiarity with both state and federal court procedures

• Ability to manage a busy docket independently and collaboratively

Education

• Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of Texas

• Additional court admissions are a plus

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
