Job Overview: A law firm seeks a motivated and experienced Immigration Attorney to join its team in San Antonio, Texas. The successful candidate will provide legal representation to clients in various immigration matters, including family-based immigration, removal defense, and affirmative relief applications. The role offers a dynamic environment where attorneys work with a diverse range of cases, from Immigration Court hearings to USCIS filings. Duties:

  • Represent both non-detained and detained clients in immigration court, USCIS, and other relevant agencies.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring deadlines are met and legal standards are maintained.
  • Conduct client consultations, offering strategic immigration advice and solutions.
  • Prepare and review immigration applications, including family-based and removal defense filings.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration matters, such as motions and appeals.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, community organizations, and government officials as needed.
  • Train and supervise legal assistants and support staff.
  • Conduct client and witness preparation for court or USCIS interviews.
  • Visit detention centers for client intake and representation when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing Immigration Law.
  • Experience with family-based immigration, removal defense (detained and non-detained), and asylum applications.
  • Familiarity with Texas court systems, especially in matters relating to immigration law.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership (Texas Bar preferred).

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License (required).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in immigration law procedures, including affirmative USCIS filings and removal litigation.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required).
  • Strong leadership abilities, particularly in training and managing legal support teams.
  • Experience with case management software (., InsZoom) and maintaining accurate documentation and billing records.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to providing exceptional legal representation.
