Duties

• Manage workers' compensation cases at all levels of complexity

• Represent clients at depositions and WCAB hearings

• Develop and implement case strategies aimed at efficient resolution

• Negotiate settlements of cases-in-chief and liens

• Draft legal pleadings, correspondence, and reports

• Communicate proactively and effectively with clients regarding case status and strategy

• Handle all aspects of workers' compensation litigation from inception through resolution

Requirements

• 3 to 7 years of workers' compensation defense experience preferred

• Strong case management skills

• Ability to negotiate and resolve claims effectively

• Commitment to providing excellent client service

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in California

Skills

• Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills

• Proficiency in drafting pleadings and legal documents

• Strong negotiation and litigation skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Familiarity with WCAB rules and workers' compensation procedures

• Technological proficiency in legal practice management systems
