Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of workers' compensation cases, from evaluation to resolution.
  • Develop litigation strategies tailored to the complexity of each case.
  • Prepare and manage case budgets as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and discovery.
  • Appear in court and other legal proceedings, representing clients effectively.
  • Draft legal motions, briefs, correspondence, and other essential documents.
  • Prepare cases for trial and provide top-tier legal counsel.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel and other parties.
  • Maintain consistent and clear communication with clients, providing counsel and updates.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the best legal outcomes for clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
  • Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation laws and procedures.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex legal cases.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Adept at legal research, motion practice, and court appearances.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Certifications:

  • California Bar License required.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and client interaction skills.
  • Ability to manage a heavy caseload and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in legal research and drafting of legal documents.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
