Job Title:
Manager, International Tax

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to multinational enterprises on business decisions, including location and operation choices, entity selection, supply chain optimization, and capital mobilization to fund global operations. This involves considering a multinational's tax risk profile, global effective tax rate, and cash posture.
- Prepare and review complex tax models illustrating multinational entities' attributes, effective tax rate, and cash tax expense.
- Advise on tax planning decisions at a global level, anticipating potential short- and long-term considerations and consequences in alignment with wider business objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Mergers & Acquisition Tax to structure the tax aspects of multinational private equity and strategic mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, dispositions, and IPOs. This includes drafting tax opinions, memos, structure decks, and Excel models to illustrate tax benefits of alternative structures.
- Assist with preparing the tax provision for financial statements and reviewing compliance work products. Support audit teams in reviewing a company's financial reporting of tax implications arising from global operations and transactions.
- Guide clients on income tax treaty planning opportunities from cross-border investing and trading activities.
- For International Tax professionals in the alternative investment space, provide support at all stages of the investment life cycle for both asset managers and portfolio companies operating globally.

Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of five years of recent experience in international, mergers and acquisitions, and/or federal tax planning engagements.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. A master's degree in Taxation, JD, and/or LLM (with a concentration in tax) is preferred.
- A licensed CPA, EA, or JD/LLM is required, along with other credentials listed by the company. New hires have one year from their employment commencement to obtain at least one approved designation/credential.
- Knowledge of a broad range of international and domestic tax law provisions is essential.
- Strong research and writing skills, Excel modeling, and oral communication skills are required.
- Ability to manage and lead multiple engagements, maintain professionalism, provide excellent client service, and develop client relationships.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the position in California is $106,300 - $203,700. KPMG provides a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including medical and dental plans, vision coverage, disability and life insurance, 401(k) plans, and personal well-being benefits. Personal Time Off is provided per fiscal year, along with firmwide breaks around the year-end and July 4th holiday.
