Job Title: Tax Manager, International Tax Services
Job Responsibilities:
1. Tax Consulting:
- Advise multinational clients across various industries on the tax implications of their business objectives.
- Recommend alternate courses of action and identify different methods of complying with tax regulations.
- Manage international tax consulting projects, including identifying planning and optimization needs, developing solutions, and communicating them to clients in a non-technical manner.
- Coordinate the overall implementation process between the client, internal service teams, global member firms, and outside advisors.
- Assess international tax filing obligations for multinational structures, review international tax returns, and oversee the international tax compliance process.
- Serve as a career advisor, train, and develop tax associates, and engage in marketing, networking, and business development within the area of expertise.
2. Tax Specialization:
- Apply an in-depth understanding of technical and practical international tax issues and explore specialization in one or more international tax areas.
- Organize and conduct effective internal training sessions in the area of specialization.
- Develop a knowledge base and personal network with professionals in selected foreign jurisdictions.
3. Research:
- Identify complex situations requiring research, outline issues, and determine appropriate research sources.
- Analyze researched facts and sources, compose detailed reports of findings.
- Prepare Written Tax Advice and confer with the National Tax Office as appropriate.
4. Tax Compliance:
- Manage client engagements and conduct detailed reviews of international aspects of . tax reporting and client data.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of . tax compliance and filing requirements as they relate to clients' international operations, structures, and transactions.
5. Tax Controversy:
- Represent clients before the IRS on contested issues with assistance and guidance from senior international tax professionals.
6. ASC 740-10:
- Apply standards, firm policies, and Tax Quality Manual requirements.
- Assist in reviewing international aspects of tax provisions, coordinating with colleagues in . jurisdictions.
- Train others in international tax aspects of ASC 740.
7. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day workload of International Tax Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns on assigned engagements.
- Deliver periodic performance feedback and complete performance evaluations.
- Act as a mentor to International Tax Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Accounting or another business-related major preferred.
- Juris Doctorate degree, LLM, and/or MST/MBT preferred.
Experience:
- Four or more years of prior experience in corporate tax, international tax, or legal professional services, or equivalent experience through an advanced degree program required.
- Experience in international tax required.
- Prior experience supervising tax professionals on a project or engagement basis preferred.
License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) required.
Software:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
- Experience utilizing RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis, and/or Westlaw preferred.

- Ability to communicate complex technical items clearly to the target audience.
