Summary:
The Tax Counsel will play a crucial role in driving AMD's global tax strategy through the design and implementation of tax planning initiatives and transactions. This position requires a self-starter with a strong tax legal background and experience in managing complex tax issues for multinational corporations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and communication skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, design, and implementation of tax planning initiatives and transactions to support AMD's global tax strategy.
- Conduct technical research and analysis of US and international tax laws and regulations to determine their impact on the company's tax strategy and legal entity structure.
- Manage tax audits and develop audit strategies in collaboration with tax authorities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of transactions and tax planning initiatives.
- Lead tax due diligence for M&A deals and develop tax acquisition and integration plans.
- Collaborate with AMD Treasury on strategies to efficiently redeploy cash throughout the company's structure.
- Partner with the tax provision and compliance team to ensure accurate tax reporting for planning transactions and legislative developments.
- Review and develop tax provisions in third-party contracts, intercompany agreements, and other legal documentation.
- Partner with AMD's Government Relations team on tax policy strategy and priorities.

Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience at a law firm or Big 4 public accounting firm focused on complex US and international tax issues.
- Strong understanding of US Federal tax, Subchapter C, US international tax, and intercompany reorganizations and restructurings.
- Excellent tax research and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Academic Credentials:
- . required with (Taxation) or graduate degree in accounting, tax, or a related field preferred.

Salary Information:
- Minimum: USD $135,.
- Maximum: USD $202,.
