Salary: The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,980 to $169,650.
Location: Central Region Office Locations (29 locations available)
Position Summary
- Seeking a leader and strategic thinker with extensive knowledge in multiple areas of taxation for the role of Tax Manager.
- This position will focus on delivering compliance and consulting services to individual clients and their trusts, estates, family offices, investment vehicles, charitable pursuits, and closely-held business concerns.
- The Tax Manager will also provide solutions to complex tax issues and have a deep understanding of AGI & DNI.
- This role is part of Deloitte's growing Private Wealth practice and offers opportunities for career growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-level reviews of tax research and work papers for individual, fiduciary, partnership, closely-held corporations, estate, and gift tax returns.
- Lead client meetings on compliance and consulting projects related to tax planning opportunities and the tax implications of transactions.
- Train, mentor, and supervise new and experienced Tax Consultants and Tax Seniors.
- Take on lead client-contact roles, billing and profitability analysis, and be involved in marketplace eminence building and pursuits.

Qualifications
Required
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience (at least 3 years in investment management) or equivalent in law firms or industry.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed attorney.
- Enrolled Agent.
- Certifications:
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA).
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Preferred
- Advanced degree such as MST, MAcc, JD, or LLM.
- Prior Big 4 experience.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting.
- Experience reviewing partnership and/or trust documents.
- Experience managing projects including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
Salary Information
- The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
- A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,980 to $169,650.
- Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
Annual Incentive Program
- Eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program.
- Award, if any, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
