Job Responsibilities:
- Serve in a confidential capacity with substantial independence from supervision.
- Research legal questions and issues.
- Organize investigations and prepare case materials.
- Present cases before administrative tribunals and courts.
- Provide legal research and advocacy services in various departments, including the attorney disciplinary committees.
- Oversee departmental programs such as law guardian programs.
- Assigned to the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department, handling cases involving attorney professional misconduct.
- Routinely investigate cases and conduct examinations of attorneys.
- Prepare case summaries and perform legal research and analysis.
- Present cases to the Committee and represent it in disciplinary proceedings before the Court.
- Participate in general court practice, motion practice, disciplinary hearings, and oral arguments.
- Manage a significant case load.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Attorney.
Education and Experience Information:
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- Two (2) years of service in the Attorney title or equivalent legal experience.
- Litigation, trial, and/or administrative hearing experience are strongly preferred.
Salary Information:
- Base Salary: $99,490

The role is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed but does not include all job duties performed by employees in the title.
