Summary:
**Members Only**, the nation's leading environmental law organization, is seeking an Associate Attorney for their Clean Energy Program. The position involves litigation and legal advocacy before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), regional transmission organizations/independent system operators (RTO/ISOs), and federal appellate courts. The Associate Attorney will work under the supervision of other attorneys within the program and report directly to the Deputy Managing Attorney. The position is a three-year term with the potential for extension.
Responsibilities:
-Work closely with other program staff and clients to investigate, develop, and litigate cases
-Participate in all aspects of litigation and regulatory advocacy, including research, drafting filings, and oral advocacy
-Engage in proceedings before administrative tribunals and federal courts
-Cultivate relationships with clients, allies, and coalition partners
-Integrate communications and legislative advocacy into legal strategies
-Supervise law students and participate in the hiring process
-Contribute to creating a diverse and inclusive work culture
Qualifications:
-Law school graduate admitted to the relevant state bar
-0-2 years of post-graduate litigation, legal, and/or clerkship experience
-Excellent research, analytical, writing, and communication skills
-Strong work ethic and sound judgment
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively
-Willingness to travel as needed
-Commitment to public interest and clean energy advocacy
-Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to diversity and inclusion
-Willingness to contribute to creating a diverse and inclusive work culture
Salary:
Salary depends on experience and location:
-Washington, . or Chicago, IL: $101,800 - $111,200 annually
-New York City, NY or San Francisco, CA: $107,200 - $117,000 annually
