A law firm seeks a partner-track associate to join its Labor & Employment practice in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of experience in employment litigation defense, demonstrating a strong ability to contribute to a growing and dynamic team. Duties

  • Represent clients in employment litigation defense, handling a range of legal issues from discovery through trial.
  • Draft and file motions, complaints, and other legal documents related to employment disputes.
  • Assist in the preparation of cases for hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and teams across offices to develop case strategies and legal solutions.
  • Advise clients on various aspects of employment law, including wage and hour, discrimination, wrongful termination, and more.
  • Stay current on developments in employment law and share insights with colleagues and clients.
  • Engage in client meetings, providing guidance and strategic counsel to ensure favorable outcomes.

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in employment litigation defense.
  • Strong academic credentials and experience with legal research and writing.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, cross-office environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach to solving legal problems and providing practical solutions.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in California.

Skills

  • Employment Litigation: Experience with the defense of employment-related claims such as wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage and hour disputes.
  • Research & Writing: Strong research capabilities and ability to produce clear, persuasive legal documents.
