Job Title: PT Family Attorney (Independent Contractor)

Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct court appearances, which may be via phone, video, or in-person if required, for various proceedings such as Status/Trial Setting Conferences, Final Status Conferences, Motions/Request for Orders, Mediations/Settlement Conferences, and Trials.
- Perform research, drafting, and documentation tasks independently. This includes reviewing case files, conducting legal research using resources like Rutter’s Guides, Annotated Codes, Lexis/Westlaw, and Google.
- Draft and respond to legal documents, including petitions, responses to petitions, motions (RFOs), restraining orders, discovery-related documents, and briefs.
- Assign, supervise, revise, and sign all substantive documents prepared by paralegals.
- Document billable hours per client per month according to approved budgets.
- Manage relationships by supervising paralegals, communicating with clients through various means, and liaising with opposing counsel.
- Undertake other projects as assigned by the Managing Attorney.

Education and Experience Information:
- Must possess a California Bar License.
- Require 3-7 years of family law experience in LA County courts within a local law firm.
- Must have a JD from an accredited law school.
- Candidates should have lived and worked in LA County and possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Spanish-speaking is optional.
- Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Adobe, Dropbox, Zoom, Slack, Asana, Lexis, and Rutter’s Guides.
- Candidates must work from a home office in a quiet professional location without background noise.

Salary Information:
- Pay ranges from to per hour.
- Expected hours are 5 to 15 per week with the ability to choose your own hours.
- The job type is part-time and contract-based, with the work location being remote.
