Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a highly qualified Business and Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Charleston, SC. The ideal candidate will have a solid academic background, a deep understanding of business and commercial litigation, and the ability to represent clients in complex legal matters effectively. Duties:

  • Represent clients in business and commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Participate in pre-trial, trial, and post-trial proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and negotiations
  • Provide counsel and advice to clients on business and commercial disputes
  • Work collaboratively with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure comprehensive case management
  • Stay current with developments in business and commercial litigation law and apply knowledge to casework
  • Manage a caseload with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

Requirements:

  • Experience in business and commercial litigation
  • Proven track record of handling complex litigation cases
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
  • Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing of the South Carolina Bar or eligible for immediate membership

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of South Carolina
  • Federal court admission is preferred but not required
