The AVP, Litigation Counsel position at John Hancock Life Insurance Company (.) is a highly sought-after opportunity for experienced litigation professionals. As a member of our skilled legal team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of litigation matters for our . Segment and Global Wealth and Asset Management. In this role, you will report to the Chief Litigation Counsel and have responsibility for managing litigation matters involving Manulife Financial Corporation, John Hancock, and affiliated entities. We are looking for a talented individual with at least 7 years of relevant litigation experience, a Juris Doctor Degree, and membership in good standing in the bars of at least one . state and at least one federal court (or membership in good standing in the bar of at least one Canadian province).

As AVP, Litigation Counsel, you will be responsible for developing and implementing litigation strategies, advising on ERISA fiduciary duties and retirement plan administration, managing litigation costs, and providing consultation to business stakeholders and Law Department management. You will also represent the company in negotiations, supervise outside counsel, and manage responses to third-party processes. Additionally, you will work closely with our e-discovery team to ensure best practices for electronically stored information in litigation and regulatory matters. You will also have the opportunity to draft and review internal and external litigation reporting.
