Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Product Counsel - Platform/AI at the company, you will be an integral part of a dynamic legal team that collaborates with innovative product teams globally. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing legal advice and counseling on a broad range of matters, including data privacy and protection, product liability, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensuring that the company's platform and product experiences are structured to meet business strategies while adhering to applicable regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Collaborating closely with product and engineering teams, data scientists, and the Futures team to develop and deploy innovative AI-powered experiences.
- Supporting the company’s innovators in experimenting with emerging technology to create delightful customer experiences.
- Communicating effectively with business partners about regulatory obligations and risk management processes.
- Producing clear and succinct written legal analyses and business communications.
- Balancing risk and opportunity adeptly, and thinking creatively to enable smart business decisions.
- Conducting research and learning about novel technology innovations with curiosity and passion.
Education and Experience Information
- A minimum of 6 years of experience primarily advising technology companies.
- Expertise in data privacy and protection, intellectual property, mobile and cloud computing, and consumer protection.
- Familiarity with the legal and ethical implications of AI, and the technical aspects of AI systems, including large language models and machine learning.
- Experience in working closely with data scientists and other technical experts to understand AI systems and provide legal guidance on their development and deployment.
- Experience providing legal support on a global scale.
- JD and membership in good standing with at least one US State Bar.
Salary Information
The company offers a competitive compensation package with a strong pay-for-performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is:
- Bay Area California: $206,000 - $279,000
- San Diego: $203,000 - $275,000
This position is eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits, in accordance with the company's applicable plans and programs. Pay is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. The company conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender to drive ongoing pay equity for employees.

- This role is hybrid, with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in Mountain View, CA, San Diego, CA, or Atlanta, GA.
