Job Title: Tax Senior Manager, Core Tax Services

Job Responsibilities:

The Core Tax Services Senior Manager is tasked with advising clients on the tax implications of their business decisions and evaluating alternative actions to minimize tax burdens and compliance costs. This role involves identifying various methods for complying with tax regulations and acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. Key responsibilities include:

- Ensuring clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
- Conducting top-level reviews of tax returns and resolving all tax issues with clients, involving specialists where necessary.
- Planning for early recognition of material tax and compliance issues and consulting with clients and partners appropriately.
- Identifying when research is needed, clearly framing issues for research, and reporting analyses clearly and concisely.
- Applying Firm policies and standards regarding ASC 740-10 and helping others learn and apply these standards.
- Assisting in developing, recommending, and implementing efficient methods to maximize client benefits, especially by reducing taxes.
- Developing an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues regarding one or more areas of taxation.
- Introducing and developing new or improved ideas to improve the position of clients, the Firm, or Firm personnel.
- Managing written or phone inquiries from federal and state agencies with little or no assistance.
- Providing effective assistance with protests at the appeals level.
- Managing client expectations and implementing applicable Firm strategies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Supervising associates and senior associates on all projects.
- Reviewing work prepared by associates and senior associates and providing review comments.
- Training associates and seniors on the use of current software tools.
- Acting as a Career Advisor to associates and senior associates.
- Scheduling and managing the workload of associates and senior associates.
- Providing verbal and written performance feedback to associates and senior associates.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree required, major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred.
- Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.

Experience:

- Eight or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience required.
- Industry expertise in one or more tax specialties preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience required.

License/Certifications:

- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) required.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role preferred.

Software:

- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred.
