Job Responsibilities:
Washington, . interns will have the opportunity to observe the daily operations of the United States Senate. Interns will be immersed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Answering constituent phone calls
- Processing constituent correspondence
- Welcoming guests to the office
- Assisting with tours
- Attending hearings
- Conducting research
- Drafting memorandums

Illinois interns will gain insight into how elected officials assist constituents with federal agency issues. They will also understand how legislative activities affect the lives of constituents within their communities. Duties in state offices include, but are not limited to:
- Fielding calls from constituents
- Researching and responding to constituent correspondence
- Attending briefings
- Drafting letters
- Working on other staff projects

Education and Experience Information:
