Job Overview
A prestigious law firm based in New York City, NY is seeking a talented Mid-Level IP Litigation Associate to enhance their growing intellectual property team. This position presents an opportunity to work on complex patent litigation cases, focusing on a diverse range of technical areas, including biology, chemistry, physical sciences, and engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent litigation, a technical degree, and exceptional communication skills.

Duties

  • Represent clients in all stages of patent litigation, from pre-trial through trial and post-trial procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and experts in technical fields to develop case strategies and arguments.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Manage relationships with clients, providing them with clear updates and expert advice.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis, particularly in complex technical fields.
  • Assist in negotiating settlements and exploring alternative dispute resolution options.
  • Support business development efforts, including client meetings and presentations.
  • Keep abreast of relevant industry trends, legal developments, and case law.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in patent litigation, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Strong aptitude and/or degree in technical disciplines such as biology, chemistry, engineering, or physical sciences.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information.
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in New York.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing individual casework.

Education

  • A technical degree in a relevant field (., Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, etc.) is highly preferred.

Certifications
