Job Title: Tax Senior - Federal / Corporate Tax
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior Consultant within the Business Tax Services group, the individual will be an integral part of tax engagement teams. The primary responsibilities include providing and assisting with a variety of tax services relevant for public and private companies, such as tax compliance, tax planning, tax controversy, and tax research. Specific duties involve:
- Performing detailed technical reviews of partnership, corporate, and individual federal tax returns along with reviewing all related work papers.
- Coordinating with clients' tax and finance departments to gather data for tax planning and compliance.
- Conducting detailed reviews of income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Researching federal tax legislation to comprehend its impact on compliance and consulting services.
- Assisting with various tax consulting projects, including research and writing tasks related to federal tax planning, restructuring, controversy, and accounting for income taxes.
- Managing engagement workflow and supervising tax consultants and interns on assigned projects.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- The ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model requiring US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work duties and the clients and industries/sectors served.
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in federal taxation.
- Experience in the preparation and review of federal tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- An active accreditation, obtained, in process, or with the willingness and ability to obtain one of the following: Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA, Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Preferred:
- An advanced degree such as a Master's of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment.
- A passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions.
- Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC740.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is $66,570 to $151,580. It is noted that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case.
Additionally, candidates may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program. An award, if any, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
