**Members Only** is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing legal representation to low-income individuals and marginalized communities in Texas. With around 200 lawyers specializing in one or more of our 40+ practice areas, TRLA is committed to fighting for justice in the toughest trenches of Texas.
Job Description:
TRLA is currently seeking sharp, dedicated litigators who are passionate about defending the vulnerable, serving the community, and challenging systemic injustices. As a staff attorney or managing attorney, you will serve on the front lines in border cities and rural areas where workers, immigrants, and marginalized communities face incredible challenges. Your cases will not only be legal disputes, but also about survival.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defending vulnerable populations such as tenants facing eviction, individuals with disabilities, and those affected by deceptive business practices
- Providing legal representation in state and federal court
- Bringing creative, complex litigation to court
- Providing services to individual clients
- Exploring all avenues and bringing the fight where needed
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in Texas, able to waive in, or pass the next available bar exam
- Demonstrated interest in providing justice to those in need
- Strong academic credentials
- Fluent in Spanish (preferred)
- Willingness to live and work in areas of greatest need
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range of $64,355–$87,565+ per year, depending on experience
- Robust benefits package including law school loan repayment assistance, generous paid leave, healthcare insurance, retirement plan, stipends for training and travel, and incentives for Spanish language proficiency
- 3Ls are placed on salary the first week of July and are reimbursed for reasonable costs of the bar prep course and bar application fee

As a civil attorney at TRLA, you will have the opportunity to aggressively represent low-income clients in the Texas-Mexico border region or farmworkers in Southeast Texas. You will be responsible for providing legal representation in a variety of cases and areas of law.
