Job Title: Senior Appellate Court Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
Senior Appellate Court Attorneys are tasked with researching and analyzing complex legal issues and questions for the court. The role involves serving in a confidential capacity and working with substantial independence from supervision within units located in the Appellate Divisions and Appellate Terms of the Supreme Court. Specifically, for this position, the responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Court with the administration and processing of its motion docket.
- Reviewing motion submissions.
- Presenting and recommending dispositions.
- Drafting motion orders.
The position requires maintaining strict confidentiality, and ideal candidates should have excellent research and writing skills, as well as significant oral advocacy or legal presentation experience. Appellate practice experience is highly desired.
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the Senior Appellate Court Attorney position, candidates must have:
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- Two years of service in the Appellate Court Attorney title or equivalent legal experience.
Salary Information:
The base salary for the Senior Appellate Court Attorney position is $110,853, with an additional $4,920 for location pay.
