Job Title: Safety & Insurance Litigation Counsel, US West
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of claims and litigation in the US West.
- Provide guidance to outside counsel on case strategy.
- Draft and review various court documents such as pleadings, discovery, and motions.
- Work across business and legal teams on risk management initiatives.
- Collaborate with team members for operational efficiency and process revision.
- Partner with other teams on insurance, risk, safety, and regulatory efforts.
Education and Experience Information:
- 5+ years of legal experience in private practice and/or in-house.
- . and license to practice law in at least one state.
- Technical know-how with at least an intermediate level of computer skills, including a working knowledge of Google suite, Excel, Word, Adobe, and other web-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience litigating claims/cases arising from property and casualty insurance.
- Ability to manage cases through pleadings, motion practice, discovery, dispute resolution, and trial.
- Solid case evaluation abilities, critical thinking skills, and the capacity to oversee a large portfolio of matters independently.
- Deposition experience and first chair arbitration or trial experience.
- Excellent business judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills with a high level of emotional intelligence.
- Mature judgment, innovative thinking, and a desire to take the initiative and think two steps ahead.
- Ability to translate complex legal issues and ambiguity into clear and simple advice.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work both on a team and independently.
- Salesforce or other database experience.

Salary Information:
For San Francisco, CA-based roles, the base salary range for this role is USD $208,000 per year - USD $231,000 per year. The candidate will be eligible to participate in the company's bonus program and may be offered an equity award and other types of compensation. The candidate will also be eligible for various benefits.
Additional Information:
This role is a hybrid position requiring 50% in-office presence, and the candidate must be located in or willing to relocate to San Francisco.
