Shumaker, a leading law firm with a vibrant and enjoyable work culture, is seeking a highly experienced attorney to join our Corporate, Tax & Transactions Service Line. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to engage in sophisticated and challenging transactional work for clients in Florida and across the nation.

We are looking for a candidate with at least 7 years of experience in private fund and/or investment management law, specifically working with venture capital, private equity, and/or real estate sponsors. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of fund formation, including structuring and forming investment vehicles, preparing offering documents, capital raising, and compliance with . laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will also have experience advising institutional investors on their investments in these types of funds and be well-versed in compliance with the Investment Company Act, Investment Advisers Act, and securities laws.

This position is available in multiple locations, including Akron, Columbus, and Toledo, Ohio; Sarasota, St. Petersburg, and Tampa, Florida; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Charleston, South Carolina. We are also open to considering a hybrid/remote candidate for the right fit.

Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Active bar license in the state where you will work
- 7+ years of private fund and/or investment management experience
- Experience with compliance under the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act
- Strong project management skills, able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
