Of Counsel - Litigation (San Diego)
Overview
Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw65 law firm, is seeking an experienced attorney to join its litigation team in San Diego. This role can be located in San Diego, Torrance, or Downtown Los Angeles, providing a unique opportunity for a candidate to join a dynamic team in a growing location. The ideal candidate will have strong complex civil and commercial litigation experience, preferably in a mid-size or large law firm.
About the Position
In this role, you will be joining a team of trial lawyers and litigators in San Diego who specialize in complex litigation, products liability defense, and class action litigation. The team has a track record of success, with numerous jury trials to verdicts in various jurisdictions and state and federal courts in California. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile cases and contribute to the growth and success of the firm.
Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare pleadings and discovery
- Prepare for, take, and defend depositions
- Manage document production
- Argue discovery and other motions
- Adept at case management
- Strong oral and written advocacy skills
- First-rate communicator
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit
- Excellent academic credentials
- Admitted and in good standing with the California Bar
Qualifications
- 8+ years of meaningful litigation experience
- Strong background in complex litigation, class action, and products liability
- Knowledge of the Song-Beverly Act, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices
- Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Admitted and in good standing with the California Bar

Salary Information
Pursuant to the salary transparency provisions of the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act, the compensation range for this role in the state of California is $175,000 - $225,000, with the final offer amount depending on experience.
