Job Title: Senior Claim Director, Specialty Complex Claims

Department: North America Claims

Salary: $150K to $175K base salary, plus competitive incentive targets and comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities:

- Direct management of significant severity/complexity claims with coverage issues and/or portfolio exposures
- Management of coverage disputes, including litigated and arbitrated matters
- Formulating claims and litigation strategies
- Managing outside counsel and litigation costs
- Providing guidance to North America Claims teams
- Reviewing coverage positions for specific states and identifying trends and issues
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- Coaching and mentoring North America claim teams
- Maintaining key relationships with stakeholders
- Communicating with senior executives, brokers, reinsurers, and auditors

Key Skills & Abilities:

- 7-10+ years of claims handling experience with variety of coverage issues and litigation
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and management skills
- Experience in law and claims management
- Ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels
- Analytical thinker with understanding of immediate and broader impact of coverage disputes
- Excellent communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of claims and legal processes
- Law degree and admission to one of the fifty state bars
- Adjuster licenses in all states required by AXIS
- Willingness to travel for team management, court proceedings, mediations, and settlements.
