Job Title: Tax Senior - Hedge Funds

Job Responsibilities:
Tax seniors in the Hedge Funds sector are responsible for identifying complex tax issues and providing in-depth tax analyses for various hedge fund clients and their affiliates. This role requires a solid understanding of Subchapter K as it relates to hedge fund structures, financial products, and related tax adjustments, as well as aggregate allocations. Key duties include:

- Performing detailed reviews of tax workpapers, allocations, and tax returns.
- Conducting research to advise on transactional and tax planning opportunities.
- Coordinating and communicating with client contacts to gather necessary information.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising both new and experienced-level staff.
- Attending required training sessions provided by the company and sector-specific programs.

Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns.
- One of the following active accreditations must be obtained, in process, or the candidate must be willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
- If not CPA eligible, candidates can be a Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, or hold certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
- Ability to work within a hybrid work model that requires co-location in person 2-3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25% on average, depending on work and client needs.

Preferred:
- An advanced degree such as MST, MAcc, JD, or LLM.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Demonstrated basic understanding of Subchapter K, financial products, wash sale and constructive sale rules, and familiarity with aggregate allocations.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting.

Salary Information:
The wage range for this role is influenced by various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic differentials. A reasonable estimate for the current range is $66,570 to $151,580. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, which considers individual and organizational performance.
