A respected law firm located in Long Beach, CA is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Education and Employment legal practice. This hybrid role is designed for a professional with extensive experience advising employers on workplace issues and handling related disputes. Duties:
Represent public and private employers in employment-related matters
Advise educational institutions and other organizations on compliance with workplace regulations
Handle litigation involving employment disputes, including wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, and wage-and-hour claims
Support clients in labor negotiations, grievance arbitration, and union-related issues (if applicable)
Supervise or collaborate with team members on complex legal projects
Build and maintain long-term client relationships through proactive legal counsel
Engage in community and professional activities to support client outreach and development
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of experience practicing employment and/or labor law
Demonstrated capacity to manage and grow a book of business
Proven client service mindset and ability to work independently and within teams
Familiarity with the public sector and private employer representation is strongly preferred
Experience in traditional labor law (., collective bargaining, union representation) is advantageous
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active membership in the California State Bar
Membership in the Oregon State Bar is a plus
Skills:
Strong written and verbal advocacy skills
Proficiency in managing litigation from intake through resolution
Practical problem-solving approach with strategic legal thinking
Comfort with hybrid/remote work environments and digital case management tools
Client-first mindset and adaptability in handling diverse workplace legal issues
